+ PROFILE
Oderso Rubini is a creative director and media designer exploring various forms of linear and interactive system in digital and networked environment.
He has been very important for italian rock, and for the musical scene of his town, Bologna. Starting from 1979, when the Bologna Rock Festival ("from the wineries to asphalt") happened, carrying out many significant bands, he created Italian Records (Harpo's Bazaar previously), a record label that marked the independent italian rock with records "produced by Oderso", quality's guarantee, surprize and language renewal. Gaznevada, Confusional Quartet, Stupid Set, Skiantos, Gang, Great Complotto, Kirlian Camera, Johnson Righeira, Markonee are some of the artists that worked with him... Some years later a new significant label for instrumental music (Stile Libero 1988-2008) has been created with Virgin Records Italy, and important collaborations have been with John Cage (Il treno di John Cage - 1978) and Philip Glass (Anima Mundi - 1992).
In 2003 he has edited with Andrea Tinti, the book " Non Disperdetevi, 1977-82. San Francisco, New York, Bologna. Le zone libere del mondo" (Arcana). In 2008 he has edited with Massimo Simonini "Alla ricerca del silenzio perduto: Il treno di John Cage" (Baskerville).
